Choice

Carried by the winds to a distant land,
burried deep beneath the golden sand,
or sunk under the sea far from strand?

Or be it by cowardice, pretense, vanity,
ignorance, betrayal or kindred insanity,
that we lost so much of our humanity?

You may genuinely feel that it’s unfair,
perhaps too much of a burden to bare;
still, this predicament is ours to repair.

Each fully responsible to do their best;
should we persevere through this test,
with true integrity may we be blessed.

Integrity

“Everyone is doing their best” people say,
but is that really so at the end of the day?

How can we reconcile that with free will,
or acknowledge that choice matters still?

Certainly everybody has reasons to falter,
faced with things hard and painful to alter.

Our best varies from a situation to another,
at times we might ask: “why even bother?”

Yet if we refuse to heed the call of our soul,
how may we then align with our true goal?

Only when we dare to listen may we soar,
thus reveal that we can be so much more.

Remembrance

By the deeds unworthy of our souls,
do we dig shame’s engulfing holes.

Still, we must let our integrity show;
do we fall to despair or dare to grow?

Forgiveness may or may not be earned;
redemption is within the lesson learned.

Through this pain we recall our vow:
to never again such betrayal allow.

May we bear this remembrance well;
the choice between life and living hell.

Courage

Courage is to still dare to speak and sing,
when anxiety swells the throat like a bee sting.

Courage is to sustain deep respect for life,
even in times when it appears only rife with strife.

Courage is to bear the integrity of the wise;
no less so when truth is accused of being lies.

Courage is a choice that requires to be made,
often in defiance of all considerations weighed.

“Courage is not simply one of the virtues
but the form of every virtue at the testing point,
which means at the point of highest reality. ”
― C.S. Lewis

Dirt

Virtually anything can be labeled as dirty; minds, thoughts, feelings, actions, behaviours, objects and beings.

So what is this mysterious omnipresent property that we call “dirt”? Say it out loud: D(the) IRT(earth). Also, in the Latin languages, from which nearly 60% of the English language is derived from, d’/de means “from or of”. In essence, something (from/of) Earth(ly).

While dirty might occasionally have a positive meaning, mainly due to being “raw”, it is overwhelmingly considered as something bad and to be avoided.

This is part of what Chris (Darren) Deojee (YouTube channel) refers to as “the alien mind” in his works;

I have found most Westerners have an alien mind: a visitor, firmly embedded in them. How do you know if this is you? Here are some questions that will quickly reveal the case:

Do you

A: like to visit nature (as compared to seamlessly experiencing yourself AS nature).

B: refer to ‘indigenous people’ without referring to yourself?

C: view the ‘earth’ (mud/soil etc) as being ‘dirty,’ or to be avoided, or not trodden on without ‘footwear’.

Where is one speaking/thinking from if this is the case?

These are not the behaviours of a native entity to this planet. I am NOT saying ‘an actual alien is in you’. I AM saying that your mind IS behaving like a visitor, a disembodied observer, an ‘alien’, if the above is true for you.”

Potential

Many are the unformed paths that lay ahead;
Raw potential shaped by the way we thread.

The fearful routes offer the promise of dimished resistance,
At the price of an even less meaningful existence.

The roads less travelled call to the brave at heart;
A journey where peril and growth are never far apart.

Life deeply yearns for our wilful participation,
Awaiting our choices with great anticipation.

Vigil

Alone, he keeps vigil on his enveloping wall;
a warden of the seal upon the hallowed hall.
Deeply consumed by the worries for her sake,
so little he knows of how much she can take.

She would break again, and thousand times more,
her Grace calls the endless sea to this shore.
The wonders that now seem like a distant dream;
in silence he can still hear her sing of them to him.

He is the fear of a mind drifted far apart;
She is the Love within the sacred heart.
Beloved companions, so dear to all of Creation,
awaken and herald the end of this separation.

Sincerity

Spare me not the truth by fearing to offend;
this is my request to you, beloved friend.
By the masquerades and shrouded lies,
the bond of kinship slowly withers and dies.
If something feels amiss, seek out why;
save the hearts from another broken goodbye.

Humanity

Courage is not the absence of fear, strength of character is not the lack of temptation.
They are  always choices.

Whoever you were, whoever you are: you are not damned, nor are you beyond forgiveness.
This reconciliation is the challenge before us; much humbleness and compassion is required.

Beyond this awaits true humanity; the kingdom of Love.
