Reality

Truth is always that which really is,
perception’s however hit-and-miss.
May we ever seek to reconcile this.

It’s primarily a matter of alignment;
the work of continuous refinement.
The defiance of false confinement.

To live by the real law of attraction,
and unity of mind, heart and action.
Thus we may find true satisfaction.

Devotion

Trigger-ed, un-happy zealots crave blood;
servitude to their chosen ideological god.

Championing ideas that aren’t their own;
beliefs by the seeds of deception grown.

As for the victory they so greatly savour?
Sadly, it is in the wrong minority’s favour.

The truth is we have all been deeply had;
countless broken and driven utterly mad.

Can we change such a nightmarish tale?
Only if we decide our soul is not for sale.

So relate anew to each other with sanity,
and remember our real shared humanity.

Sovereignty

Hello again! said the boot to the face,
stamping atop in a pretence of grace.

Offering wonderous gift-wrapped lies:
all you want, so long as freedom dies.

With followers obeying what they say,
to power despots will carve their way.

Masked like rulers, queens and kings;
marionettes pulled by unseen strings.

Fear, greed, ignorance or false cause;
the fuel for any tyranny that ever was.

An old story told by unheeded voices;
perchance time for different choices?

Nevermore serve slavery and murder;
draw the line – this far but NO further!

Surely if humanity grows a backbone,
any would-be tyrants will stand alone.

Value

Each passing moment has a cost;
choose well what matters utmost.

Frivolously, or by conscious intent;
nonetheless our life force is spent.

To either fuel the destructive race,
or making the world a better place.

Every choice, part of the total sum,
affecting generations yet to come.

As those who lived to be wise say:
lies are not worth the price we pay.

Walking a path with truth as guide,
we may yet abide past false divide.

Alike

A matriarch or patriarch?
The outcome is yet stark.
How about right and left?
Different hands, still theft.
In all shapes and colours;
lust for power over others.
By whichever given name,
slavery remains the same.
Either overted or coverted,
freedom is still subverted.
Not within either extreme;
balance is found between.
Any rape is still too much;
are other peaks not such?
Let’s now forsake the lies,
as to rise anew, truly wise!

Choice

Carried by the winds to a distant land,
burried deep beneath the golden sand,
or sunk under the sea far from strand?

Or be it by cowardice, pretense, vanity,
ignorance, betrayal or kindred insanity,
that we lost so much of our humanity?

You may genuinely feel that it’s unfair,
perhaps too much of a burden to bare;
still, this predicament is ours to repair.

Each fully responsible to do their best;
should we persevere through this test,
with true integrity may we be blessed.

Utopia

Tyrants delight in us fighting each other;
creed, colour and sister against brother.

Any way to make us weak and ashamed;
a broken spirit is docile and easily tamed.

The utopia they promised never was real,
only a rude awakening and a hellish deal.

Still, there is a clarion call for true might:
stand your ground for that which is right!

Wisdom

Life teaches by all ways and angles,
some pristine, others murky tangles.

Knowing thyself is the highest aim,
yet not all you are is quite the same.

Most beliefs do not come from you,
and too often they are not even true.

Their removal may not be pleasant,
still their absence is such a present!

Great many are the examples to see;
no lesser are those of how not to be.

So we must forsake what can’t stay;
truth meets rejection of lies halfway.

Precious are lessons rightly learned;
wisdom is many a time hard earned.

Integrity

“Everyone is doing their best” people say,
but is that really so at the end of the day?

How can we reconcile that with free will,
or acknowledge that choice matters still?

Certainly everybody has reasons to falter,
faced with things hard and painful to alter.

Our best varies from a situation to another,
at times we might ask: “why even bother?”

Yet if we refuse to heed the call of our soul,
how may we then align with our true goal?

Only when we dare to listen may we soar,
thus reveal that we can be so much more.

Belief

Ideologies, what a curse upon humanity;
half-truths wrapped around full insanity.

Dogmatic religion, scientism or new age;
such freedom to pick your preferred cage.

Classism, speciesism, sexism and racism;
divide and conquer, the good old schism.

Rule by communism, capitalism, fascism;
faces of fear, colours of one dismal prism.

Environmentalism calling us all a cancer;
for self-loathing is surely the best answer.

Too many to name and all quite the same;
confusion and animosity is a grand game.

Alas, with free speech one risks to offend;
yet so we must, for there is much to mend.
